Pets need dental care too! We want your pet to live a long, healthy life. Maintaining a healthy mouth is an important part of that goal. Dental disease can lead to other serious health problems such as heart and kidney disease. After a brief visual examination, we may recommend a more detailed examination, cleaning, and treatment (which requires sedation), or options for at home dental care.
Prevention is best! We recommend daily tooth brushing for ALL pets. If that is impossible, there are other home care techniiques that may help. Ask us!
Your pet’s bad breath is a sign of dental disease! Bad breath is caused by mouth bacteria. Over time, without daily brushing, many pets will develop plaque, tartar, gingivitis, and periodontal disease. This causes painful, smelly, unhealthy mouths.
Signs of severe dental disease include drooling, pawing at the mouth, severe odor, or even not being able to eat at all. If you are concerned about your pet’s oral health, call to schedule an appointment and evaluation with one of our friendly doctors today.
