Dr. Sharon Henn
I lived on a hobby farm growing up, and was very attached to the cats. If you were looking for me, you could find me reading a book and cuddling with some kittens. Unfortunately, my parents never took our animals to the vet, and I would feel so helpless when they were sick. I didn’t like that helpless feeling, so when I was trying to find my path in life, I decided to become a veterinarian and never be unable to take care of my animals again. This is a perfect fit for me, since I also have a love of science, math, and record keeping. I still like solving problems, helping people take the best care of their pets, and have a soft spot for cats.
I majored in biology and minored in chemistry at Central Michigan University and graduated summa cum laude in 1997. I graduated first in my class at Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. I have been practicing small animal medicine and surgery exclusively since graduation. I have been with Family Friends Veterinary Hospital and Pet Care Center since the grand opening in May 2007.
I have three wonderful children, a houseful of rescued pets, including 5 cats and 2 dogs. I run an online sewing business in my spare time specializing in making diapers and belly bands for dogs that suffer from urine incontinence or marking in the house. I love to paint, play volleyball, go to bootcamp, and relax with Yin yoga.
