I knew when I was nine years old that I wanted to be a veterinarian. After working at John Ball Zoo for several years, as the Education Director, I returned to vet school at Michigan State University, graduating in 1990.
I’ve been a practicing veterinarian in the greater Grand Rapids area for over 23 years, including a three year stint working with the Canine Cancer research group at the Van Andel Research Institute. I love helping owners keep their pets healthy and happy.
I married my husband, Gordie, in 1978. We have a large family of Clumber spaniels, and enjoy raising beautiful, smart, funny, athletic dogs . They excel at hunting and conformation showing. Yes, they sleep on our bed!
In our spare time, we enjoy participating in AKC hunt tests (I was the first woman to earn a Master Hunter title with a Clumber Spaniel ), showing dogs, Rally and tracking. We also, just like our dogs, love kicking back and hanging out with each other, dogs and friends.
